Learning climbing techniques can be tricky on the internet. This course is live virtual instruction from a professional climbing instructor.
Who should take this course:
Adults who want to learn the basics to climb with an experienced friend
Kids who want to expand their knowledge (Lessons are designed based on their developmental stages).
Parents who want to climb with their kids
Adults who want to get back into the sport and need to freshen up their skills or learn best practices.
The course is broken into 3 topics with a total of 4 sessions.
Topic 1: Basics- 1 session
Safety systems, gear selection, climbing, trip planning and climbing ethics.
Topic 2: Climbing - 1 session
Knots and top rope climbing.
Topic 3: Belaying and Rappelling - 2 sessions
Sharpen your belay skills and learn about different belay tools and learn best practices for rappelling.
Students will need some equipment to effectively participate.
10 ft of 10mm climbing rope (static or dynamic)
Rock climbing harness
2 locking carabiners
120cm pre-sewn nylon sling or 150cm of tubular webbing
A belay/ rappel device
