Let’s talk about your writing. In the classroom I’m always encouraging students to sit down with a writing tutor just because we can move a lot faster one-on-one. I don’t have to generalize; we can just focus on exactly what you’re doing and not doing in your writing, and without the pressure of the public setting we can have fun with it, too.
The best way to improve your writing is to write about the best writers, so you will write about the best short pieces we can find. Via Zoom we’ll zoom in on what’s so great about great writing, and we’ll enlarge your palette of styles for different situations. I’ll tell you what grade your essay would get in my college class and why, and you’ll tell me what you think about that.
You’ll need internet access, a word processor, a functioning webcam with a microphone, the ability to concentrate, and a sense of humor. We’ll workshop your stuff. Our object will be achieving the joy of clarity.
