Beginner Course: Drawing with Graphite

Join me for an introductory course on observational drawing with graphite for adults. We will be learning about different graphite levels and what they mean, and different mark-making styles, as well as basic composition building.

Each session will begin with a few short exercises and a discussion on techniques until we settle into a longer drawing session for the remainder of the course. Then, we would have a group critique at the end.

The class format would be very hands-on, with ongoing critique that is meant to encourage students to be their most creative selves. As with most art classes, students should have fun exploring materials and techniques while potentially having creative breakthroughs in the process.

For this course, students will need to bring the following:
- 10 pages of 18x24 sketching paper
- HB pencil
- 2B pencil
- 4B pencil
- 2H pencil
- 4H pencil
- plastic eraser
- kneaded eraser
- supporting surface (easel with full back, drawing clip board)
