I work with child and adult students across all skill levels and genres. My teaching is mostly technique based to help students reach the goal of playing music that helps them continue a lifetime of joy and creativity. My passionate teaching approach varies from student to student, as I understand that each is on their own journey. I have over ten years teaching experience, a five start rating on google business, and a sincere desire to help students achieve at any stage.
About my course:
My lessons are focused on setting up students with the technique they need to play music that inspires them! That includes:
- A comfortable playing position
- Left hand set up (the hand in charge of notes on the fingerboard)
- Bow hold and technique
- Note reading
- Ear training
- Advanced techniques (shifting, vibrato, etc.)
- Mindfulness and breathing exercises
I meet students where they are at, and help them hone in on specific areas they would like to improve or learn about. My lessons are fun, dynamic, and well paced to cover a wide array of topics in each lesson, with the goal of putting it all together to play MUSIC!
Students need not have any prior training or experience. I am great at working with beginning, intermediate, and advanced violinists. The only thing you will need is an instrument, any shoulder equipment you will need (determined at our first lesson), a notebook, and a pencil. Depending on what the student wants to learn, we will select repertoire together, and make sure the student has access to that repertoire.
Again, my main goal is to help students build a fun, rewarding, and lasting relationship with their instrument! Thank you for visiting my profile! I wish you well on your musical journey!
